Trapeze Updates School Trip Software

Application now includes driver training information

JUNE 28, 2002 (CLEVELAND, OHIO) – Trapeze Software announced today it has released an enhanced version of its School Trip software to integrate with its driver training management application.

Trapeze School-Trip is used by school districts and commercial operators to manage and schedule outings. The latest release is now integrated with the Trapeze Driver Training Hours (DTH) product. “Assigning the right drivers for school outings can be complicated at the best of times, and transportation staff need to be able to view up-to-date information about which drivers are trained on which vehicles, and which are behind in their training hours,” says Steven McKinley, Operations Manager for the school division of Trapeze. “Our DTH application has been available for a while to help districts manage training hours, particularly in states where there is a statutory requirement for driver training. Integrating the training information in DTH with the employee management functions in School Trip was a logical progression for both products.”

New features have also been added to the pre-trip and post-trip windows to make it easier for users to sort fields, track driver assignments and manage yard and bus information.

“Our highest priority at Trapeze is to have a stable, easy to use suite of products,” McKinley says. “Our customers made suggestions on what features they would like added to the products, and we have incorporated many of them in this new release.”

School Trip is available as a stand-alone product or as part of a suite which includes Trapeze MapNet routing and scheduling software and Trapeze Fleet vehicle management software.

The company will be demonstrating these new features at the upcoming STN Expo in Reno, NV and at regional school transportation events.
