Trapeze Releases MapNet & Fleet Upgrades
New features improve rider management and reporting
JUNE 26, 2002 (CLEVELAND, OHIO) – Trapeze Software today announced it has added new features to its MapNet and Fleet applications for school transportation operators.
Trapeze MapNet, the leading school routing and scheduling application, now includes tools to manage inactive riders more effectively. “School districts often have children who are eligible for transportation but, for various reasons, may not use it. By identifying these students in the application and giving the transportation staff the option of not displaying them on the map, we have made it easier to get an accurate rider total when calculating stop demands,” says Steven McKinley, Operations Manager for Trapeze school products.
MapNet’s routing features have also been upgraded to include easier calculation of distances between two or more locations and total time and distance between first and last stops. As well, Trapeze has added a route validation feature for multi-user environments which alerts users when route contents have been modified by others. Enhancements were also released for the application’s route calculation, route check, security, redistricting and map edit functions.
Trapeze Fleet, the popular vehicle management software, has also been upgraded to allow users to export reports to external file formats, such as Rich Text Format, HTML for web pages, and text files. The software is now fully compatible with Windows 2000 and XP.
“These upgrades are part of our continuing commitment to the school transportation community to deliver affordable, easy-to-use tools that automate routine tasks,” McKinley says. “We’re excited to be able to build software that meets the needs of our customers.”
MapNet and Fleet are available as stand-alone products or as part of a suite which also includes Trapeze School Trip for managing and scheduling outings.
The company will be demonstrating these new features at the upcoming STN Expo in Reno, NV and at regional school transportation events.
