AKN Eisenbahn AG Chooses Trapeze Software

Will use duty planning and crew assignment software

HAMBURG, GERMANY - Trapeze Software Deutschland GmbH today announced it has been selected by AKN Eisenbahn AG to supply its duty planning and daily management software.

Based in Kaltenkirchen, Northern Germany, AKN Eisenbahn runs rail services in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. The company employs 300 people, and has recently won EU tenders.

“The increasing demands have made it necessary for AKN to upgrade and improve their IT systems for duty planning and crew allocation. AKN found that our Duty, Roster and Month Planner products offered the best solutions for both existing and future needs,” said Jesper Andersen, Managing Director for Trapeze Software’s European operations. “This is our first customer in the German rail sector, and we are very excited about applying our experience in the German bus and tram market to this innovative company.”
