Fort Worth Chooses Trapeze For New Transit Information System

Integrated suite will improve efficiency and service

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA - Trapeze Software announced today it has been awarded a contract by Fort Worth Transit Authority (The T) to deliver an integrated transit information system for its fixed route, flexible route and paratransit services. Trapeze will provide The T with an integrated enterprise system to manage seven key areas of its operations:

  • Fixed route scheduling and runcutting
  • Operator bidding, dispatch and timekeeping
  • Customer information
  • Paratransit scheduling and dispatch
  • Flexible/Deviated route scheduling
  • Service planning
  • Rideshare management

The Trapeze system will streamline The T’s data sharing and management capabilities while it improves operational efficiency, customer service and communications through faster processing and access to more accurate, real-time transit information.

“The software’s ability to integrate the various operational components, as well as interfacing with our existing and future business systems, were key in our decision to select Trapeze,” said Gary C. Allison, Director Information Technology at Fort Worth Transportation Authority. “They also offer comprehensive training and long-term support programs, which are very important aspects to ensuring we have a sustainable system in the future.”

The T provides scheduled bus service and ADA paratransit service in North Texas to the citizens of Fort Worth, Lake Worth, Blue Mound, and Richland Hills. The transit authority operates 185 vehicles and approximately 17 fixed routes, 7 express routes, 7 flexible/point deviated routes, and ADA paratransit service.
