San Francisco MUNI Selects Trapeze for Fixed Route
Trapeze system will interface with smart cards, HR systems
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA - Trapeze Software has been awarded a contract for San Francisco MUNI’s technologically advanced Scheduling System and Operator Dispatch System (SSOD), after a stringent public tender process.
When complete, MUNI’s SSOD will use Trapeze software for its fixed route scheduling, dispatch, runcutting, transit operations, customer feedback management, and transit planning functions.
“We’re really pleased MUNI has chosen us to provide these central pieces of their operations infrastructure,” said Rick Bacchus, President of Trapeze Software Group. “MUNI is well-known as a progressive, service-oriented transit agency. It’s exciting to be part of their initiative to take transport technologies to the next level.”
Using the open database architecture of the Trapeze system, MUNI will be able to integrate a range of technologies to improve service and productivity. These include integrating fixed route data with its public timetables, as well as connecting driver schedules to smart cards for quick check-in, and integrating employee schedule data to MUNI’s HR/Payroll system.
San Francisco MUNI is the seventh largest public transit system in the United States, with 700,000 boardings daily and a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles.
