Trapeze Launches MyBus for Android

Trapeze has successfully launched its first Android application, MyBus. The service uses data from Traveline to provide departure times at bus stops across Great Britain.

The application is personalised and location aware, and also provides times for tram and light rail systems. After browsing an interactive map to find a stop, picking a saved favourite or searching by name, the user simply clicks a marker to reveal the departure board.

Bus times shown are either real-time predictions or scheduled times, depending on local availability of data. Behind the scenes is Traveline’s powerful open data API, which integrates dozens of individual real-time schemes blended with scheduled data to ensure there is always useful information at every stop.

MyBus follows several highly successful iPhone applications launched by Trapeze in recent months – for London Stansted, Traveline Scotland and thetrainline.com (now featuring in-app ticket sales).
